blow by on a 2H

blow by on a 2H
If the compression is still good, is it possible for blow by on a 2H to be caused by a cracked head gasket. Or is it still more likely to be rings. The radiator isn't bubbly.

If this is the case (rings gone) you usually get blow by in the sump. You can check it by pulling out the dipstick when the motor has been running. If you get blow by coming out of the dipstick, it’s a usually and indication of that the rings or bore is worn.
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times

rings will probably be pretty cheap but it's a PITA to do them, could do it in the truck but have to pull the head and sump. give SMS Diesel a call for a price, they will probably give you an option of factory or aftermarket.
I would strongly recommend using one of the engine flushes available, or even just using kero or diesel, to see if the engine is just gunked up and the rings are sticking. I am a bit confused though - if your compression hot and cold is within spec the blowby shouldn't be too bad. is the motor turbocharged?

Yes the motor is turbo charged. I don't have the actual figures of the compression. When I had the car looked over by the RAA 2 years ago when i bought it they tested the compression and said it was good. But they also said that i was getting blow by.
I know that i am now getting a fair bit of blow by.
If i use diesel to flush the engine. What ratio of diesel to oil do i use or do i just put it in straight. How long should i run the engine to flush it out.
If this doesn't work i might get the compression tested again and get the actual figures this time.

warm it up fully first, throw in say half a litre, let it idle for 10 - 15 minutes then drop the oil and fit a fresh filter. I don't know if it works as good as that FLOC or whaever it's called but I have successfully de-sludged a flogged out 2H and a 2L-T just using diesel.

possible when the prev owner rebuilt only done rings as well
420k & two rebuild for 2h shit
possible bore worn & that is were you are getting blow by would rip her out & check bore with internal mic
last build might have been shody there are mech & then there are mechanics if you are going to do a rebuild then do it wright
