Its for a shorty but its easily changed for long wheel base for about 50 - depends what you got height wise already ya know - still cheaqp as hell an I will throw in all sort fo spares if you wish as I am trying to get my garage cleaned out hence low price....

Screwy knows more about my set up than I do.

Cheers

The kit will fit both, its just the rear castor correction that makes a difference, and to overcome that u can just add or reduce the number of leaves in the pack to get the angle u want.....

worse case senario would be to cut off and re weld the top SOA mounts to the desired castor.

The front will not need to be changed.

cheers

So I wouldn't be able to leave the amount of leaves that are in the MQ there
I don't have any welding equip

After the SOA i can garuntee u wont want to leave the std amount of leaves in there. The car will sit miles too high and u will have gained NO added flex.
Remove leaves to get flex, the idea of the soa is to give u the hieght so u can do that.
If u tried removing too many leaves out of a Sprung under rig it would be sitting on its guts

Have u got an SWB or LWB?

if its an SWB theres a good chance u can leave the kit as it is without having to chage the leave packs, if its a LWB however, the pinion angle may be too high for the length of the wheel base so mods would be needed in that instance.

U really cant go wrong for the money hes asking as engineering mobs want over $3000 to do SOA.
And worse case senario u will have to spend an extra $100 to get the rear mounts adjusted at a local welding mob.

cheers

Thanks for that Screwy

It would be for a LWB, so then I'd have to get the rear changed.
I'd have to give Cheezy a ring and see if they would be able to do it there.
So how much at a guess would have to be put into the rear shaft, as I'd say that would then be too short.
As for taking out some leaves would 2 be enough?

i payed $150 to get me drive shaft lengthened. Playing around with the leaves is sometimes a case of trial and error. Just get an oxy kit to open up the spring clamps for you and the rest can be done with a spanner, once your happy with the setup close the clamps again...or for insane flex leave them open.

Be aware setting the rear drive shaft angle can be a bit of work. I'm sure cheezy can help you there if needed, or else buy a good double cardon joint, big dosh though $500+ i think

thinking about it, if you can't weld I wouldn't bother attemping this mod, there are many little niggly things like shock mounts that need time to setup properly.

I'd go buy a shitty GMC $99 joby stick welder and learn the basics, That welder will do everything you need to do to complete this mod from the stage you'd be at with this mostly complete kit. otherwise you'll be paying top dollar for someone else to do it.

just my advice

cheers

With a LWB u may find that u might not have to lengthen the shaft, im not sure but the LWB's shaft angle wont change much when u do this, the shortys one does.

As said lengthening and balancing shafts is worth about 150 a pop, With regards to the leaves u dont wanna run any less than 4 in a LWB rear and maybe 5 in the front as they are heavy, i Run 3 all around in mine and they are almost flat.

All in all u will come out with a complete SOA for not much over $1000, whereas workshops want 2000 just for the kit and none of it is welded, for them to fit it its worth like 3500

Its worth a crack

Sorry my friend - don't wanna get rid of it in bits - want to sell as a whole...

Dave - If mere male wants it I will give you my turbo set up for free as fuel payment dude if you keen?

Meremale - its a good setup and I would run it on mine but I have no use for it as I only do minor off road stuff - rather coat myself in mud than try and climb everest ya know???

Screwy - Sellin the chev and just gonna get a $500 L28 - rusty if needs be - whack my panels on her and paint her up quick, whack a 5 in ch lift and 32s under her and thrash her in the mud as hard as she will go - thinking of putting 260Z dual carby set up on her or making turbo setup for her....

Cheers all.

Hey,

If ur coming up i was going to ask if u would like to take the lot as u will have a trailer.

I will not be bringing a trailer down that way unless i have to, so if i have to bring the diffs i can bring the motor.....

BUT, im not sure of the dates and things of my trip as yet as family situation at present makes me un committed, i may not get away till january yet i dont know

BUT

i hope to leave on the 27th of november at this stage if all goes well.

Ill take it all if ive got the fuel money as i will have to bring a trailer which i wouldnt of other wise

What are ur plans.......????

I dont realy want to drive to sydney full stop, as the only reason i am going there is to pick up an engine, not real keen on doing the drive in the old mq, and fuel is going to cost me a forturn as the old girl needs that engine bad...

If you would bring it down i would be greatly appresiated, i would throw in some juice money, and have a mate that wants his 60 series diffs adn would probable throw some money in also

ATM cant think of anything worse than driving ten hours sleeping then driveing ten hours back
