16X8 or 15X8 rims?
16X8 or 15X8 rims?
I've got a GQ, currently running 16X8 GU rims with 35" muddies, getting new rims after Christmas and giving the GU rims to the oldies for spares, what am I better off with 16X8 or 15X8 and why? (Will be runnning 35's again.)
Tyres to fit 16" rims are generally more expensive too, although there are some cool sizes available.
I would personally make a decision about tyres first, allowing for maybe $60 for 15" rims, $95 for 16" rims, and then see where that leaves you.
There's really no other basis for choosing than the dollars involved and the final rolling diameter and width you want.
It's not as though one size offers superior performance in itself.

This is not legal advice.
Okay, thanks for that, in my case I might as well stick with 15's then cause it doesn't really matter either way. Only reason I was running 16's cause I had a set of GU rims sitting there and picked up a cheap set of second hand procomp muddies to suit. But my olddies want the GU rims as spares, so I will go get some 15X8 rockcrawlers and some new tyres after christmas.....scary already planning things to do AFTER christmas!
Thanks heaps for your help!
