Love the Rain...... Hate the Leaks

Post by Chookman »

Got a leak in my 89 LWB GQ which is giving me the S*%ts.
Have resealed the windscreen and cut sick with silastic but no joy.
The water appears to be running down the inside of the front kick panel on both sides of the car and pools along the door sill seam under the scuff plates.
Any Ideas

what car?
On GQ's there is a channel or pipe on drivers side that if you block it with silastic you get water leaks into kick panel.

goto 0briens and pay them to remove and reseal the screen.. probably replace the rubber while at it.

Where abouts is the pipe you mentioned?
The leak is worse passenger side.
Drivers side leaks but only during prolonged heavy rain.
Passenger side leaks when I test with a bucket of water but drivers side remains dry.

Thanks for the help

If you look about inch or 3 in from the edge of the screen you may even see it under the grill thing that goes around the wipers from side to side, again about 3inch in from side of screen. It directs the water..
It may pay to have them look at it, specially if you get leaks with a bucket of water.. your rubbers may be worn out..
