I got a 96 patrol and would like to add some comfort features :) so i am thinkinga bout installing
a. central locking with remote keyless entry
b. power windows,
c. cruise control.

ive got no idea on how to do either ? does anyone know if there is a good website available or a book that would guide you through the process ???

is it beter to get aftermarket kits or get parts from wrecker... would gu electrical parts wor in the GQ...I cant see any probs there ???

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Try and get all the parts from a wrecker. They'll be a lot better quality and easier to fit (especially the electric windows).

If you're going for remote central locking you may as well fit an alarm that has remote locking.

I have been looking into the same operation for my truck... it looks like it will be a bit of effort, but should be doable... I never thought about going to a wrecker for that stuff, but I guess I got a lot of parts to buy right now, so it might be a start to look there. Let me know if you find anything that can tell you how to do it... I would be quite interested myself.

You can buy a central locking kit from Dick Smiths for about $45, 5 years on & it still works in my work van.
GXL Turbo Diesel 80 series- 6" King springs + Rancho in-cab kit- 35" BFG Muds Twin ARB airlockers.
