drive shafts
drive shafts
are the drive shafts on a 1 liter and a 1.3 liter sierra the same? ie is the transfer case the same dimensions just different gearing?
muppet_man67 wrote:thanks. do you mean the mounts to the chassis? should I be buying 1.3 liter shafts to do a 1 liter transfer case conversion into a coily sierra?
USE THE FLANGES FROM YOUR COILY.YOU MUST USE A 1.3 GEAR DRIVEN JACK SHAFT,AND MOUNTS ..
THE MOUNTS ON THE T-CASE AND CHASSIS ARE DIFFERENT

I believe the two tailshafts are the same length on 1.0 and 1.3 nt zooks. but the jackshaft is longer on the 1.0 (cause gbox is shorter I think)
not sure about wt zooks, as they have no handbrake fitment, but probly is the same story.....just the flanges are different.
I think the chain driven coily case is shorter than both sierra gear cases, probly meaning the longest jackshaft may be needed? christipover

sorry ive got you all mixed up..
i meant you can use the 1lt/1.3lt geardriven t-case.but you must use the 1.3 gear driven t-case mounts, not your coily mounts,or the 1lt mounts.
you do not need to change the mounts on the chassis...
