Classic RR Vs D1 WMS

Just out of curiosity (ok a pipe dream), does anybody know the difference in WMS between the D1 and the classic RR?

AFAIK they were about the same - at one point they went to narrower spacing between the wheel bearings, but that shouldn't have decreased the track by more than 1".
