Wanted: 4WD Friendly VIC Engineer

Post by bryce »

I'm trying to find a 4wd friendly VicRoads approved engineer to certify 4wd modifications.

Having had an 'incident' rolling about on its roof waving its wheels about in the air (itchy back?) and declared a repairable write off, I've just reassembing the former 4Runner as follows:

- 1990 4Runner chassis, 3.0 litre petrol engine, 5 speed manual
- 1997 Dual Cab Body

The vehicle was previously engineered with the 4Runner body, by a NSW authorised engineering signatuory, for the following:

- 35 x 12.5 x 15 tires
- 50mm body lift
- coil converted front end (IFS removed, replaced by 80 series diff)
- A-frame rear-end

During the rebuild process, the rear diff, a-frame, trailing arms, tailshaft, handbrake cables (etc, etc) were lengthened 14 inches to accomodate longer body length. Rear coils are 2.5 inch over Landcruisers, fronts 4Runner + some inches.

The Lux's NSW rego expired during rebuild. Living now between VIC & NSW I hold VIC licence & regos (different vehicle). Pain in the a** as vehicle is in NSW, gotta trailer it back to VIC!

So I need to find a VicRoads certified engineering signatuory who can do the engineering of existing and new mods + RWC.

Any suggestions/contacts?

Bryce
