Im in the middle of the new project called: Snabelost is buying a house for him and his family.
However, the house we probably buy is a nice two story with a nice garage attached to the house. It's a newly built two-car garage with a heated floor. Also the floor has the "Stars and stripes" painted on the floor! =)
The newest upgrade i have made is the steering upgrade that i have posted a while ago.
I will keep you guys informed on all future upgrades. The list still looks like this:
RMP&O wrote:Kingy...it is a photo chop picture. But don't feel bad...I was fooled too.
You could do that though to an MQ with the right amount of skill.
Ok its a chop ....... not being "up with it " when it comes to choppin .....
I asume they have "married" the flares to the quarters..... if so what are the flares or are they "hand drawn" ????
I think the pic is kewl, as everything is well in porportion and I'm very tempted to do a cut similar to this style, hence the queery.
If they are flares from another make/model it makes life EASY !, if they are pressed up , then I have a extra days work to do.
The rear diff has been moved back about 10" while the front diff remains in the std position in the pic, obviously thats a heap of work in that alone but never imposiable !

Yeah, it's a photochop. I have told you guys that before! My goal is to have my MK look like the pic. However, the only thing thats "photochopped" is my companys logo. The car is still the same. Oh, forgot, it was red before my photoshop-guru started with it!
The rear axle is moved. Probably its on springs also.
How about rotating the rear leafs? It would make the wheelbase about 10" longer. Definatly 8" longer.

oh really...? I thought the whole thing was a choped picture. So if it is an actual truck as shown how about ton's more pictures! Kingy is right about the gaurds, if they from another vehicle easy to fit compared to fabbing them. Flipping rear leaves is a good idea and will increase the flex. I dunno how much it would push back the rear diff....?
I plan to chop my MQ but it will be more in the rear. It also won't look as good as this one! My purpose is for silders all the way around but also to make room for big rubber and to get rid of the low hanging body which IMHO sucks on MQ-onward Patrols.
the back is definately coils hard to tell for the front but id go with coils also the front flare does look like a 75 series the rear i reakon is a fabricated one or you could try the flares off a jeep the rear off them look similar to that or the rear flares of a GQ maybe i'd go with the jeep flares though but yea turn the rear springs around you could even get GQ front gaurds for the front and put flares on them

Just wondering with that pic Does that flare go around to the front grill, or is that part of the chopped photo every ones on about??
Apparently the only "chop" is the wording ( BRADATA) and a color change, Snabelost said it was red before the photo chop !
I think you may be right in saying it goes around to the front panel..... If I can find out as to "how" the flares were done then the rest is childs play !

P/S
Definately coil rear end, no sign of a leaf setup at all.....
The mind is ticking over .......

Thought at the moment are to bend up a length of 32mm pipe from the fromt panell right back to the end of the rear quarter.....
then plate off the "gap" between the guards and the pipe thus making them into 'flares".
The sill section could incoperate a step at the same time as being a rock slider .........

I'll check to if i can find the source of the picture.
Btw, the word BRADATA migth need some explanation... =) It's actually two words, Bra and Data. Bra means Good in Sweden and Data means Computers/Computing. So, BraData = GoodComputers! It's has not anything to do with stuff that women use for holding their bodies together!
There was an artical in 4x4 monthly about a marks adapter SWB truck getting larger guards almost identical to the picture above but it was a red fourby.

driving to work to day i saw a 75 series with flares if you cut the actual guard off the 75 then you can make it curl around the front understand?

the colour change in photoshop has stripped away some of the detail of the pic, flattening it a bit. It looks like the flares go around to the front but I reckon that is because of the colour change. Be interested to see the original pic. The flares appear to be GQ flares trimmed a bit
pretty sure i've seen a "MWB" GQ competing in vic ... yellow ish colour i think.
tried to find it but ???
looked nice as the wheel well was moved backwards and the area filled in so the body was the same length as a SWB but the rear wheels were at the back and hence it had minimal overhang..
i think wizard had some big flares made up for a GU and possibly for a GQ as well.

you can email the owner of the truck via the link and the MSN site. But I get the feeling the owner may not speak much english. This P-troll is from Iceland btw.
I dig their body mods a lot also. Would like to know/see more myself. I got an MQ and I am not afraid to put the knife to it!
