6 Groove pulley for York compressor=rockinghorse $hit

Post by Gordo »

Been trying to track down a 6 groove pulley/clutch to complete my york install with zero success. Found plenty of complete yorks but all (including mine) have old style V groove pulley/clutch.

anyone know ** mr Airock this means you ;) ** if you can fit a 6 groove pulley/clutch from another lesser compressor type (Sanden, Nippondenso, etc) to a York ?

The clutch on my v groove is aok but I only want to run 1 serpentine belt instead of the more popular dual belt off the alternator.

Through my limited research it appears a few vehicles ran this pump - Volvo 244, XA, XB, Landau Fords and late 70's Mazdas. All appear to be V groove though...

I know Kilby sell em - For $110US and I can get em new (only a recent product line) through a aircon mob here in ACT for $330

Considering the compressor was a freeby and came with a clagged 6 groove pulley which was pitched b4 I got it :( these prices are little wrong for me..

Any clues dudes ?? TIA

any machine shop should be able to graft a 6 groove outer onto the vee pulley - grab a sufficiently large 6 groove pulley from the wrecker and take it with your v pulley to a shop and ask them to make this fit over that, shouldn't be more than a hundred bucks in it.

dd, yeah enquired with my engineer for this solution and he said similar. Still trying the ultimate tight ass option - bolt on 6 groove and clutch as I can get a whole 6-10cfm york for $50...of course with a skanky v-groove
