Well, they're certainly cheap - less than $300. However, I hear they just ride over your spider gears and smash em. Apparantly diff shops won't even touch em they're so bad for it... can anyone comment on this, had any problems? Keen for a locker but not if it's just going to break in a few months.

Lockright Diff Lockers - bad?
the spider gears come out when the locker goes in....
they aren't too bad on the road, just takes a lil bit of getting used to. if ya haven't done much wheelin tho, i'd prolly look at tyres and suspension first, get some experience with the rig on open diffs, less likely to tip urself over...

if you buy from the states, you have two options, with out without side couplers.
if you get side couplers, you take everything in the centre out, incl. the side gears, if you get without side couplers, you use your existing side gears. a bit cheaper.

my lockright didn't replace the side gears with couplers. from what i've read the one's that replace the gears with couplers have had more drama's than those that dont.
and like others have said. they're not _that_ bad on the road, and if you're not a complete retard, you'll get used to it after a few days and it becomes second nature driving with one.

perhaps you mean sidegears ???
but I have not heard any reports even suggesting that there is any kind of problem along those lines

The couplers replace the side gears. From talkin to people in the states the advice i got was that the best option is to use ya existing side gears. The couplers are harsher and more problematic apparently. I have a detroit ez locker, and it works great. It runs standard side hears.

yes they will feel slopier than a standard diff as the centre of the locker has alot more movement in it than a stock diff ...
Unless yours is getting a bit weird to drive (like putting you across two lanes of traffic) then it most likley OK

1st is check your wheel bearings.as they tend to wear quicker.
the second is to replace the springs and pins....makes a hell off a difference..
