Fuel consumption issue

hi all,
my 92 hilux, 2.8diesel, has started chewing way more fuel,
i used to get a bit over 600km to a tank, think its 77litre, but now i gettin about 480-500, thats over 100km less a tank and at $1.07 litre it sure gets expensive, had anyone had this problem and what can i do to fix it,
it doesnt blow smoke, same as always and power seems the same, their are no fuel leaks either. need help

my hilux did the same, '91 dual cab 2.8. it had 10.5R 15 super grippers.

i added a injector / fuel system cleaner over about 6 tanks of fuel.
that increased the range from about 430km to 500km.
the addetive was given to me, so i used it with gusto.
it becomes expensive adding a $15 bottle every tank.

a few issues ago in the overlander mag i saw a addvert for diesel motor conditioners. made localy in Carol Park. claiming to "recondition" a motor without pulling it down. The web site is informative. i cant remember the name, but i could ask a mate if you cant find it.
it was about $90 for the 'kit'

i think if i kept the standard tyres it may have been a bit better mabey.

have you changed anything on the truck? suspension, tyres etc? have you changed brand or viscosity of oil?

how many km does the engine have? if over 80,000km it could benefit from an injector service and tune. these engines need very regular oil changes (MUST be changed every 5000km), and if the air filter is even slightly clogged consumption will go up, too.

If you use a fuel conditioner, try to get "BP Diesel Go". Its the same stuff as all the other fuel additives, but heaps cheaper. It is a bit hard to find, as most suburban BP stores sell the small expensive bottles like Wynns etc, but truck stops usually have it. Its about $5 for a litre and will treat around 2000 ltrs. First treatment is a bit stronger and you will notice a lot of crap coming out of your exhaust, but it should clear up after a couple of hundered kms.

no nothin has been changed, its got 189000 on the clock, my mechanic says its funny how it just changed all of a sudden , if it injectors they normally go over time he says. I just used inter-jectron diesal care and cure in the tank and same product that u put into the fuel filter and also spray into the inlet manifold, it has seemed to get me about 30km more over half a tank , but nothin like it used too get me,
