Impact screwdriver. they can be an absolute bugger to get off. Other options is to cut them off carefully with a grinder and then use new ones to put it back together

usualy takes an impact screwdriver, or air tools to crack them off...some people butcher them off, but that risks snapping off the head...good luck, christover

Hey,
Try useing a small chissel and hammer to try and turn them,

grind a slit in the bolt and use a BIG flat blade screw driver , ive had ones were ive used a hammer and chisel and it still wouldn't move but the big screwdriver got him , and a impact driver should have no dramas as long as you hit it Hard!
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

I used a big phillips head screwdriver teamed with a ratchet and socet to get my doors off. Screwdriver sits in the socket, you apply pressure with one hand, and turning force with the other.

It may not be dented, he may just want to trim the guards, and isn't confident doing it on the vehicle. :?
