Patrol Rancho model #s

Post by coke »

Hi guys,

well I have found the cause of my front end bounce in my GQ. I installed the 6" coils and shocks that I bought s/h and they ran well for a coupla thousand ks, but on the weekend I ripped one of the lower mounts through the mounting point on the diff housing, breaking the washer and losing the rubber. Amazingly the nut was still on, so I just need to get a new washer and rubber in the short term.

Long term I will be getting the right length shocks.

My rancho RS9000s have a code on them of 9159 or 2C2154. That's all that is ledgible to me. Anyone with Ranchos running a 6" lift, can you please supply your codes for comparison.

I think I might go tough dog if I have to buy new. Thoughts?

thanks Steve. I just spoke to Auto Alliance (Rancho) and they said that the shocks that I have on the front are only for 2-3" lift in a GQ. I have fitted some nolothane bushes to them this arvo and this will do until I decide what to replace them with.

I bought my gear s/h so I was ripped in a few areas.

I have priced tough dogs at 260 ea for the fronts. Can anyone better that?

Rancho only wanted to sell me four for some reason, and that was $792 complete, but the guy wouldn't give me the codes for the shocks, something about not for retail. Pretty strange really, considering he confirmed the old codes were for 2-3" lift...
