Having a problem with my diff lock.. had a little drive to ormeau the other day and it was jammed in the normal position. I could NOT engage the 4wd 'diff lock' on the transfer stick and it seemed to be stuck... Does anyone have any ideas or information on whether i could try to fix it myself? or is it a trip to the transmission shop??
Should the diff lock be engaged when in neutral or park or in drive? I tried a few possible combinations and couldnt get it to engage. Could someone advise the correct procedure please.

help - diff lock

I had this problem a few years ago on our 80 RR.
Don't know if it's the same as yours, but on the 80, you lift a seperate knob up.
Ours was jammed down.
I pulled the whole switch apart, and found something (can't remember what) was bent, which prevented it moving.
Starightened it, and has been good ever since.

The shifter is probably seized.
To confirm crawl underneath, and remove the linkage for the centre diff at the tcase. (simple job, just a split pin) Now hop back in and try lever. If same as before, shifter is seized.
Pull console out, remove rubber thingy, remove rubber thingy off tcase shifter. Spray wd40 or similar over the shifter where it slides sideways in a couple of bushes in the housing. Let sit, then wiggle till it works.
If not a seized shifter, then your in the poo.
