simply run a two way wire to the power supplyin the ignition coil on a petrol with a switch in your secret location.

Kill switches.. theyr'e alrite.. i prefer a nice auger squre steering wheel lock as they're good as well as removing the ignition coil wire to the distributor,, no spark - no power.

Or buy an alarm system

Thanks, what do they use in comps for a kill switch?

I have an alarm waiting to be fitted. After drowning the truck the other day I am thinking electronics and water don't mix. Hence I was thinking about a simpler solution.

hook up an air pressure switch to your ignition then you have to turn on the air compressor and wait for it to pump up before starting it.
might fool a few

there is a basic circuit on autospeed. basically a self latching relay holds the ignition on. however to latch the relay in the first place you need to provide current to it temporarly. to do so you have a magnetic reed switch in a secret spot behind the dash etc - just outta the way so it wont be triggered by accident by a theif. to start the car you swipe the hidden switch with a magnet on your keyring and you have a few seconds to crank the motor. when it starts the relay is then held closed and the car continues to run.

the only negatives are that if you stall you only have a few secs to restart before reappling the magnet. secondly a magnet does not mix with the cards in you wallet.

also i have seen normally open switches behind ash trays. you need to shut the ash tray to start the car

or those big fark off flame throwers like on tv a while back
cheers mate

Not too sure on the ash tray thing, could imagine someone having a smoker in the car and the next thing you know is a dead car on whilst trying to drive :? if not a smoker then could us that plus the lighter in the car.

That or set sumthing up like in the older MG's

The had a key for the ignition, a little plastic one for the the elec and something else for the fuel.

So I suppose if you have a switch for the fuel pump that would stop ppl
No fuel no go.

That or if u want to have sum fun just put them all in and extras and play musical switches to get the car running

I find if you mount a small bracket setup behind the drivers seat witha cable going to accelerator pedal (bike cables work well) then weld a 12ga shotgun to it with guards over trigger etc and link cable to trigger you won't have to worry about car thieves... oh recommend changing interior to vinyl/chequreplate - easier to clean I recon....

 = :onfire: =

Simple but effective - oh and I think it may void insurance claims though...

Slightly unballanced Patrol Dude (hey I just sold my 350 chev MK....)

On a serious note - a marine battery cut off switch is good idea - mount in engine bay and run wire from key to chassis - stop you loosin it - easily bridged if needs be but cheap at $13 from boat shop compared to $50 at auto shop.

Hidden swithches in seat rail of passenger seat, we put a magnetic kill switch in sun visor once and used fridge magnet on dash of MK to activate.... worked well but like someopne said you got a little bit of time only to get her started!
