5 inch lift for gq wagon confusion and brand opinions
5 inch lift for gq wagon confusion and brand opinions
talking with a few people re a new set of springs to replace ones in now that sit at about 3 inches and work well but just need a little more clearance.....
from what i hear when you buy a 5 inch lift thats not necessarily what you get? some brands bigger smaller saggier...........etc...
when bru21 hires an a hooker for 5 mins she shouldnt leave after 4 mins (but may due to his erectile probs) and wouldnt stay to six!.......... bad example but hey... have a limp one bru......
want fives @ 5 that will stay at 5 or near abouts...
any thoughts..
Thanks
Bingham

what tires do you want to run?? Is that the need for more clearance?
EG My 33's still hit with 6inch lift and 40mm bodylift.. so if your thinking that more lift will clear bigger tires it doesnt always work.
Mine was a www.Bigballsoffroad.com kit Ratshit shocks, and Dobinson springs .. the springs last, the shocks dont.. Go with some Koni, or OME shocks with the Dobinson or King springs.

running 35 mtrs, just want a little extra room for fast work, and i definately agree with the above, have procomp shocks to suit supposed 6inch lift but springs have sagged.. nothing i can do except belt the living hell out of inner guards but a think an inch or too will help clear outer guards
cheers

Are you running spacers on your front control arms? 10mm spacers to push the diff forward is the go for the front.
If my 33's were rubbing with 6in lift, you will have to go 10in and still maynot clear it.. If its the lip of the guard that is hitting, trim it its the best cheapest and easiest way.. Get the lip redone by a panelbeater, bazzles looks factory only cost few hunge...

now i clear 36's easy with 4" springs and 2" body
if you're having trouble, just trim the gaurds a bit.
36Xwhat on what rims, the outer guard not so much the prob its the inner guard that hits and sounds discraceful.........
as far as i can see its either wheel spaces, 10's or get suspension that doesnt flex
cheers

Bigger springs will combat the rubbing from the small hits and articulation but they still will rub on the bigger hits, articulations. Sounds like your springs maybe to soft. The drop brackets should have already moved your tyres 10mm forward. I suppose another 10mm wont hurt. I hope to see you on Friday champ. You might find that it is your mud guards doing a lot of the rubbing to.
