are gearbox / t-case rebuilds easy to do for an 80 series or what kind of cost is involved in this process.
5 spd box and part time t-case
also can you convert full time t-case into part time t-case other then useing kits with just a high and low selection (I am after 2H, 4H, 4L).

Everything is interchangeable on them. Ive put a part timer in behind my auto and ran a PTO off it. The differences are the tailshaft lengths, auto is 60mm longer than manual gearbox, part time transfer is 75mm shorter than full time on rear shaft only. If you have ABS, your transfer is longer again with a viscous coupling in there, and you cant do the part time without loosing the ABS, so we wont include the v/c.
Sooo, there you go...if u use a part time transfer you need to get the part time rear tailshaft with it, or pay lots for one later. If you have an auto, the manual constant rear shaft fits with the part timer
Depending on what your motor is, the 5 speed will be either a h150 for 1hz or a h151 for petrol and t/diesel...these are interchangeable aswell, the gearing being the difference, later than 92 have the better synchros on both boxes.
