2H POWER???

Post by CRUISERMAN »

Hey guys I was wandering what fuel economy/power I should expect out of my 2h in a 75ser ute. I'm running 33 x 10 tyres (not to much of a ratio change). On a highway run i worked out I use 11.5ltrs per 100 kays, is this ok? My power is down a fair bit though, it struggles to maintain 100k's in 4th usually down around 80 on slight hills, I've cleaned the injectors, new fuel/air filters, ram air, and wound the injector pump up two turns on the top end and still no power or soot, I have even tried puting rags over the headlights so it can't see hills comeing. what else can I try. What can be done on the exhaust side of things?????

I have had mine tuned by QDAD replace injectors and did a few other bits and pieces and it made a huge difference

Before that i could maintain 5th gear on 32 on slight hills and 4th going up the range to landcruiser park

Your fuel economey dosen't sound to bad however your power is way down, it may pay you to get someone to have a look at it

sounds like it's not geting enough fuel if you could wind the pump up 2 turns and still not get any smoke. 11.5l/100km is pretty good, it will get worse if you get more fuel into it but the power will be there.

Go a good set of mandrel bent extractors and a 2 1/2inch exhaust you got toget out whatever u put in and maybe K&N air cleaner less restriction. You do have a snorkle allready :?:

good point. in (clockwise) = less fuel on the inline pumps. (opposite to the rotary pumps on 1H*, 3B etc

My next purchase :) Planning on having the extractors ceramic coated aswell. I look at the factory exhaust manifold and wonder how the hell it even works.

I have 31/10.5's on my HJ60 does about 2500 in 5th @ 100, need to use 4th to overtake tho.

I used $100 in diesel brisbane->rover park and back last weekend, had to overtake a fair bit on the way back. 700k's including a days driving in the park.

then after you've priced up the cost of ceramic coated extractors and a full exhaust system, and considered that the extra power it will make will be in the 5kW (maximum) range, think about the $/kW of turboing up instead. it makes a lot more sense.

stay away from aftermarket air filters, there is no measurable power benefit and many (especially the surgical cotton types) allow too much dirt past.
