Just been to the panel beater, and turns out the rear sliding windows in my wagon have got cancer (rust). Whats the best way to resolve this? He said its easy as shit to take the old ones out and put new ones in - but apparently the whole lot comes out, and they're hard as shit to find, and bloody expensive.
Any suggestions??
Cheers - Coxy

Replacement with perspex is an easy and cheap "fix" compared to fitting new ones. I have a couple of spare sets of original windows here if ya get desperate and they are in excelent condition, you'll find good ones in wreckers yards in the "drier" areas up north but it can be a frustrating search at times.
The perspex alternative should set ya back around the $200 mark and thye look quite good and are reasonably durable too, only problem is legal issues, the perspex shouldnt be used where "passengers" come into contact with it ( fine on a canopy on a builders ute for example). Legistlation requires the use of a similar product called "Lexcon" ( sp ? ) which is the stuff we see all the V8Supercars using for side windows etc....its expensive......

Very rare to find a patrol without rust there.
If you can live without the windows opening, it might be the easiest option.
simply perpex and rubber
