You poor little man. When you bought your tires, you shoped on overlander. The guy told you they were 35's but really they where his trusty worn out 31 inch cooper ST's. Don't bother talking to me about street cred, ya nard.

No they are bigger. they are also measured 29/9.5/15.

They are bigger then the standard by a fair bit.

Im running this size at the moment till I have money and get a body lift and 31s and geardriven transfercase. They makes a huge difference to offroad performance. I tried driveing on the standard road tyres for the first time on the weekend and I got hung up on stuff that I normally wouldnt think twice about. the 235 still sometimes grab the gaurds but its rare and only at full articulation comeing down on the bumpstops hard.

I know a guy who is running 30x9.5s on a standard zook but his tyres are getting chopped up really bad. Ie he has almost no outerlugs left. you could probbably fit them if you took the standard flares off and put on a horizontal rubber or garden edging flare.

so how much lift do you need to run 30x9.5s... if you can run 29x9.5 stock?

More importantly, what are the biggest tyres you guys would recommended on stock gearing?

Was thinking of 30 x 9.5 mudders and 2" spring lift to replace my 27 x 8 ATs.

I had a narrow track 1l. It had home made extended shackles, and a 2" spring lift. I ran 33 x 9.5 old style BFG Muds. I removed the standard flares, and used the small flexiflare. At full compression at the front, they rub on the firewall, and the top of the wheelarch. It did no damage to the tyre, or the car. I also had the tubes cut off, in the front of the wheel arch. at the rear, they rubbed a little at full compression, and it put slice marks into the outer lugs, and at full noise around corners it rubbed on the fuel filler neck, untill I tied it up out of the way. IMHO, they were a great size tyre, and I would do it again. In regards to gearing, it was a slow piece of crapanyway, so it just got a bit slower. it didn't make a noticable difference from 31" to 33" performance wise, but heaps better ability wise. I ran the stock gearing.
