castor and camber
ive got a vague idea what each of these means, but if some one could explain it in precise terms and tell me how lifting the vehicle affects both i would appreciate it, and also the beat way of correcting both after a lift of say 4 inches in a leaf sprung hilux
Positive Caster is the rearward tilt of the top of the kingpin { in your case swivel bearing }measured in degrees.
The more +ve caster the more the front wheels lift the front of the truck when turning left or right. This gives heavier steering which will also give more feel and stronger return to centre.
Camber is the lean in and out at the top of the wheel , which will not be affected with your type of suspension when you change heights.
Raising the front of your truck , with shackles at the rear of the front springs , will increase +ve caster , so no adverse handling charactoristics
should be encountered.
