as you said
easier starting
smoother acceleration
more reliable spark
no points to adjust
and normally a extra 500 or so rpm up top not that we need more revs with a 40 :)

i cant say on the 40 but i converted my cortina from points to ei and the difference was great much smoother acceleration and gave it a extra 500-600rpm up top even tho its not used that much sometimes it comes in handy to have a higher peak rev line

and i dunnno about you but points suck to adjust :)

theres basically only 3 wires to wire up..

you take the wire from your points distributor, disconnect it from the coil..

connect it to the input on the kit..

there is a thin red lead from the kit... this goes to 12V ignition..

and the thick red lead from the kit goes to the coil
now in Perth

im a little concerned it might not have to much benefits for me on startup.

mine starts first or 2nd kick everytime now. so maybe im better off not paying.
and points...... havent thought about touhing them.....

500 extra rpm might not hurt, you mean it would rev to about 3500 then?? woo hoo!!!

Shiat!!! now we are talking!!!!!!! although i find a spray of this silicon stuff i bought yrs ago for my zook works wonders. havent really had mud issues in the 40, besides getting hung up on diffs a couple of times, nothing that a bigger run up doesnt fix. but i shall be looking into it.

How much work would be involved in dodgying up a 3F setup???
