Buying a new zook

Post by beally »

Ahoy,

Im in the market for a sierra, i have done a small search on these boards and i cant find anything about the sierra utes. I dont mind the normal sierra, but if anyone can give me the pros and cons to the ute, and the specs around the car, ie does it run a different chassis or suspension etc.

Thanks in advance

intruiging, does this make it any harder to get it to articulate or fit some 33's?

Ive read a fair bit about them, just hard to find some stuff on utes, plus i find theres about one ute for every 15 shorties. Making it harder to find on the second hand market, and they all seem to be white?

Anyone know any more info, what years they were made, what motors they came with.

Cheers

I have a 87 Ute. It was a narrow track but know has wide track diffs under it. ARB locker in the fron LA Locker in rear. Old man Emu 2" springs in the rear with 3/4 eliptic, Ridepro rears in the front, extended shackles, 2" body lift, custom tray and exo cage. Toyota 5k engine (came with a 1.3), 6:1 T/case 34" Swampers

Pros: Longer wheelbase better for on road comfort and hill climbs
Different
Great camping truck

Cons: Limited room in cab
Hard to find

I'll post some pics in a minute

what ill probably end up doing is spending the next few weeks trying to find a good ute, and if i cant find one ill look for a swb. speaking of which, if anyone has a ute they wish to offload.

Thanks for the info, is their any particular company thats best to deal with for mods, or are individual products scattered around.

cheers,
beally

btw i looked up maruti, what is this whole maruti thing, is that the japanese name for a sierra or something, i always thought it was samurai, and that link, whats that gypsy stuff, makes it sound like a fagsmobile, which i know its not.
