Tyre Dumping
Hey,
I've got a set of Dunlop Road Grippers, they're still good for another 7000K's if anyone wants em, other wise I'm told it's like 15 bucks to dump them at the tip. Does anyone know where toget rid of them free? otherwise they're going to the vacant block up the street at 3am

Clearly the tyres are crap if your willing to give them away, so... rather then pay $15 to the tip how about you just go to your local tyre store and ask them to get rid of it for you. They would pay about $2.50ish/scrap and they may charge you $5 for all the trouble you have put them through.
Much better idea than leaving it on the street you tosser

Thought people on here had a sense of humor???
I was kidding about dumping them in the street. The tyres came off a troopy to put on muddies, they're Road Grippers so by definition they are crap thought i'd offer them could get someone out of trouble if they got baldies

I guess some people didn't notice the smily at the end of your statement
God of Magnificant Ideas!
Since we have all become more "enviromently friendly" tyre dumping is a huge NO NO.....
The tyre shops have to get rid of old cases somehow and there are several solutions/options for them IE: having them burnt at a hightemp incinerator, but this costs money to have it done, it also costs money to have them transported there.....cost which YOU are charged for hence the $15 fee.
I was involved in this some time back and our local gunclub was actually paid to take old tyres, they made a large amount of money from this and it saved the tyre joint a heap too.....
destruction prices went something like this .....
car = $6
4x4 = $15
light truck = $20
truck = $ 30
super singles $40
tractor =$65
jet liners = $80
earth moving ( small )= $ 100
eart moving (large) = $ 200
These prices do NOT include transport to the destruction facility only the destruction costs.......
The annoying thing is when ya leave ya old cases they often use me for recaping and then sell em back to ya and when they are worn out ya pay again for the destruction..... bitten twice ................ mungrels.
The "cheapskates" way out is to dump em at the trye fitters at 3.00am, at least they will be properly disposed of...... If everyone "dumped em then this will just mean that new tyre prices will go up eventually ....... its the old system of "user pays", get used to it

yeh, i see so many scroungers taking tyres from the local beaurepairs stack, i rekon theyd only have to dump maybe half of what they get paid to dump.
if you were looking for a free way out just take em up to a tyre place as V*Patrol said, leave em wherever thier stack is. Chances are if they have any tread left someone will take em anyway.
As stupid as this sound millions of tyres are legally and illegally dumped, alll sizes right through to the miners trucks, but the stupid thing is if its cut in 1/4s it is legal if not it's ilegal.
Watch out you might get done on a technicality!!
I did some work at a tyre recycling plant!
