I'm currently looking into buying a long range tank for my '93 LWB GQ (TD42). I came across LRT and Brown Davis. Are there any pro's or con's for either of them and does anyone know other manufacturers who make them for the GQ?

Long Range Fuel Tanks for GQ
Only advice i can give you is to ask them to notch the tank if you have a lift on your GQ as your right upper control arm hits the tank on flex.
Easily fixed by lettin them know your lift etc so they can notch it
Oh and if you have a body lift,, as them to lift the tank to suit so you have more ground clearance

I just fitted an LRA to my Mav. They modified the tank mounts to suit the bodylift. Turns out my fuel sender is farked so I don't know the useable range yet.

I have an old Brown Davis auxiliary tank in my mav.
Have a few probs with it
The control arm will hit when I eventually fit my new shocks
Being a diesel, they draw of each tank, not the transfer system, thus you cannot use all the fuel in either tank
And my main gripe, it runs out of fuel when going down hill!
Even with just over half a tank, when going down hill, all the fuel runs to the front of the tank leaving no fuel at the pickup. So, I rang Brown Davis to ask for advise on how to fix the problem, wasn't trying for a free fix as the tank was old and came in the car when I got it, but he tried to treat me like a nuff
, recons their tanks a better than anything and leave the standard tank pickup's for dead. My standard tank works perfect!
So if I was to buy a new tank, I would give the LRA tank a go.
