Steering Stabiliser

The other week I was up at Gembrook and hit a big bump. Steering wheel was 90 degrees off centre. I looked out the window to see where the wheels were pointing. Straight ahead (drivers side any way). A little further up (say 5m) the steering had straightened up.

Was the steering off centre while the steering dampener was compressed (ie one wheel pointing a different direction other) and because it took time to return to centre would that indicate a shagged stabiliser.

If shagged does anybody have any recommendations for a replacement unit. Do you just go OME or is there a cheaper alternative that works and fits ok?

cant be certain what caused that, but it probably wont be the stabilizer. a good stabilizer is important, tho, I use an OME one, its been great value.
steering off centre is usually a bent drag link, or a bent tie bar, but these dont usually spring back to shape..steering death wobbles can happen when damper is stuffed, bigger tyres etc can cause the drag link to bend back and forward....I would be giving all steering parts a good check over. christover

Was in a rig the other day with a RTC stabilizer. Felt like it was more effective than the regular type. And they look damn cool too.
