Child proof doors ( mutter mutter mutter f#*k )

Post by V8Patrol »

these wonderfull little things can be switched to either .... "engaged" or "disengaged" via a litle lever hidden in the doorjam on the more "modern" cars of today.

They stop children from opening the rear doors of a car and have probably saved many lives but ............

HOW THE PHUCK do ya open the damn door if the OUTSIDE handle breaks and the child lock is ON
:bad-words:

Oh I know .......
strip the rear seats out
strip the door trim off
get ya fat arm through a tiny hole and then using the last inch of ya fingers on that fully twisted and outstretched arm thats contorted up into a knot, open the door via the little rod that runs from the broken outside door handle to the door latch and thats that tight under the pressure and leaverage system and bingo the door opens ........

Now just to complicate things the other rear door is in the same condition which ofcourse means that the rear seats have to come out via the front doors...... my week is off to a great start

my left arm will never be the same again. :?

LMAO I haven't seen such a sticky situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck in a sticky bun. May I ask why both rear door handles are conveniently broken at the same time someone put both ya child locks on. Sounds like a good prank to play on someone.

Friends car..... the other rear door had been broken for about 2 years and seeing that the other still worked why bother fixing the broken one....
The kids have been climbing out through the front doors from tha back seats for about 3 weeks now.

Sounds like you were working on a s##tbox XF. Im with you kingy, Ford do the most annoying things.

Coil Position on all their 6 cylinders was ok up until the crossflow six came out. Then when they went to distributorless ignitions - try changing the leads on them.

Starter motors on EA to current 6cyl.

Oil leaks.

Thrust bearings falling out of main caps.

Everthing on XD-XF.

Spark plugs on Clevelands with AC,PS and Gas.

Last good Falcon ever made was the XY.

I could go on all day but I wont. Maybe we should start a I HATE FORD club.
