okay I had some idea's of my own before i ask the questioned, just wanted to know if you guys had some new idea's to me, which you did.
plans are. out with carpet, want rubber mats (but maybe get some thinner lighter ones). take back seat out when I enter comps. Getting another set of doors to make half doors with no glass etc.
My tough deciscion at the moment is what to do panel wise. I would love to cut roof off and make a body style ute, but as this is a daily driver and takes 4 ppl in it once a week it needs to stay 4 door. bob it (seriously thinking about it) but means only have enough space in back to keep LPG tank. or just take rear bar off and make a tube bar that will help departure angle and push rear diff back 2 more inches.
remember I'm building a project landy to use for Hardcore 4wheeling...this is my daily driver/weekend wheeler and camping truck

I think we all know what the real answer is here - finish the D100

motor will be a 4.4 once the project is finished.
my RR was roughly 2.3 tonne when I weighed it at the tip on the way out...thats heavy for a Landy. what I would expect of a patrol or similar.
Anyway I want to finish the project, but still want to wheel, and the RR is it. got to get a balance of spend money on the project and do things that cost bugger all or nothing on the Rangie.

Holy sh#t batman!
I thought Rangies were a lightweight 4wd.
Never weighed either of our's (79 4.4 & 80 3.5), but I thought they were around the 1800kg mark.

79 Rangie (his name is Ralf) 4.4 dual fuel, with plenty of other mods.
Oils leaks are a factory option to prevent rust!

RACV towtruck driver told me RACV will only tow up to 2.5Ton under roadside assist.
I'm not sure how they determine that. It would be "funny" if while winching the truck onto the flat top truck their cable snapped
A fridgie mate weighed his Hiace in at 3.4tonne, one of his mechanics couldn't lift it on the hoist till he half emptied it, best I could get my Econovan to was 2.4tonne.
