How can you tell how much lift???? Also body mount drama

Post by kc_ksom »

G'day People

As I tryed doing the body lift last night unsucsessfully, This I don't know why, but I couldntn't separate the body from the chassie more than 10mm, It just wouldn't go any higher, All 8 bolts were removed, all things that I could see had clearance, So whats the go, ?????? it just kept lifting the front wheel, I jacked under the rear of the front gaurd, I kept 2 bolts loosely fitted on the opposite side I was working on incase it slipped off the mounts, and the steering shaft was loosened (but tight still you had to hammer it to move) And by the way, there is not much free spline left on the steering collum, seems as though it may need an extended yolk??, also the front mounts had no rubber under them, but they couldn't because it would of made the body sit out of shape because of the difference in rubber under the other ones,????????? Does any of that make sence, lol....

Also I was wanting to know, how can you tell how much lift is already there if you diddn't do it. I can tell it has had after market leafs and shocks fitted, but im not sure how many inches it is lifted if you know what I meen.

Can you tell buy messuring the distance from the ground to the sill hight, or from the centre of the wheel to the gaurd hight..

Anybody know....

Thanks
Casey
