leaking out the breather

i was under the 4x4 today like every other day and noticed that the diff was leaking oil out the breather could this happen if there was to much oil in it :?

maybe if there's water in it it can expand and needs a way out. thats what happened to mine, except it came out the diff flange instead of the breather
