Rear 3 Point seatbelts FJ40

Post by halminator »

has anyone installed 3point seat belts in their 40's?

will be installing a zook rear seat this weekend but not really keen on the lap belts, and prefer 3point for safety, etc.

any advice?

I went through this same thing when I had my rear seat put in for the kids. The only option they said was to get a full cage made and engineered similar to the jeep one. Also mine was a hard top at the time they said there was no where safe to mount them. My temp solution was having kids harnesses fitted similar to racing harness but obvious this was only any good for young kids. Of course acciddently making a third baby has stuffed up all my arrangements for seating in the 40. :D

thanks Dazz, have seen those kids harnesses advertised lately and might just do the trick for the time being.

anyone come across a rear seat that has the seat belt integrated into the seat?

if you look at newish ppl mover vans some of them have the lap sash belts fitted to the seat but it would require you buying the entire seat and fitting it to the 40

why not just get a set of 3-4 point race harnesses for the rear lol :)
