Ok, so if someone had the head, the efi and harness they could do a GTi conversion without pulling out they're G13BA engine ('92 model?)
What would be the down side? (other than fiddling with gaskets?)

One of the benefits of the orig GTi engine is the crank & rods. I think they are forged, can't remember exactly but they are stronger/better than the G13 stuff. You might want to check if there are any differences in the compression ratios too, the pistons could be different (not sure about that, just throwing out ideas you might want to check into).

hmm.. would the internals fit in the g13 engine??
correct me if i'm wrong but if i converted my G13BA shell to G13B spec i would still have the engine number stamped on it and be able to sweet talk the cops and inspectors?
