TUBE time.....plans & ideas....

Post by Drewfus »

Firstly.......as a rule of thumb, I think EXO's look

g.
a.
y.

BUT......in an effort to keep an open mind, I do believe they serve a meaningfull & effective purpose. Hence I'm willing to comprimise.

I AM going to build a cage (of sorts) as I value my life, and I'm prepared to drive my chariot offroad, away from the 'cool scene' down at the mall.

Having said that, I also recognise that it will not be a competition, IROK spec unit which need's to be capable of being dropped off a cliff onto it's lid........I intend to build a purpose built 'buggy' for that kind of thing......later.

To cut down on the 'chit-chat' I'll try to be brief....AIMS

1. want to assist the protection of the rear tub (as I see allot of people damaging theirs, and I'm not willing to cut mine off).
2. Still want to be able to fit some arrangment of 'bikini top
3. If (more realistically, when) the zook goes over, I want to be confident that I'll be relatively safe.
4. designed such that I could argue the 'need' to get an engineers certificate (ie, does not come to close to driver's head, hence if it follows the rear 'bikini bar' profile, and is an exo, following that tie link from the widscreen to the b pillar.....kinda like Grimbo's.

Anyhow, I've got the steel, similarly the dies (DAWN 40NB, & 32NB), tools ready, welder ready to fire........

Here's some idea's on how I hope to do it....experienced idea's & suggestions welcome.....

Firstly...using Big steve as a template....
