Luggage pod

Post by murcod »

For those Feroza owners who need more luggage space (and don't want to remove the rear seats) here is a pic of a Mont Blanc 340 litre luggage pod fitted. The good bit about this particular pod is the roof rack bars are recessed up into the pod's bottom- so it sits lower on the roof and will fit under a standard height roller door (by all of 6cm clearance in my case).

Looks Space-age !!!

Not too sure 'bout the clearance for standard roller door.........as it is, my Feroza clears my standard roller door by about 1cm :finger:

From what I've seen Feroza's are fairly tall to start with compared to most 4wd's- so I can imagine how high your's is

I guess it means I could do a 2" lift and still clear by 1cm!!! :D ( I might come to grief then though depending on the amount of fuel in the tank..... )

I just need to find somewhere to store the pod when it's not in use, as it can't be doing much for the fuel economy! I'm thinking a pulley system to secure it to the roof of the garage above the Feroza could be the go- simply lower it down and bolt it on.

Yeah, I wanna get some comparo shots with mine next to a standard Feroza.......BUT........I never keep my Digi Camera in the car whenever I see one.

I'm tryin' to organise a Feroza / Daihatsu trip for the Melbourne Outerlimits members and others so I'll be able to get some shots then.

Wadda ya doin' in a couple of weeks Murcod..........come for an 8 hour drive over to the East !!

Yeah, I noticed you had the outting planned. If I lived a bit closer I would come along too- 8hrs is just a bit too far to travel.

The pod is 33cm high, plus at least another 5cm between it and the roof when it's on the racks. So, providing your roller door is the same height as mine, your Feroza would easily be 40- 45cm higher than standard.

I mean it's only an 8hr drive..........you gotta test out your new POD
