I haven't experimented but always went with 45degrees being a good starting point.

Be careful with laying back short shackles too far (ie 45 degrees). On compression the spring will push the shackle back and lock it up under the chassis.

shackle angle

Post by Roctoy »

i used 2003 ifs rear leaves in my 84 lux.
snake racing extended shackles.

this setup gives you a really flat shackle angle, so i cut the rear mounts off and moved them back 50mm, this works great, they don't flatten out when carrying a load and the system flexes great!
