MQ 5 speed on trading post
Thanks ozy. Rang him up this morning, and he won't go any lower than about $650 for the gb+transfer. He might have let the front driveshaft go with that too. It is from a turbo diesel, so not the ratios I wanted anyway, and too pricey for me. But I still reckon he'll find a buyer - the wreckers he rang wanted $1500 and $1200!

Yeah - I sold afew 5 speed that were excess from my last project...
I got $750 for last one with new clutch and double cardin joint front shaft with box and transfer case... break it down and that pretty cheap seeing joints are cleose to $200 and clutch retailed for $400.... I just wanted it gone and he didn't stuff me round - he just bought it - paid cash on the spot.

MQ/MK Parts for sale!!!! See for sale section!
Yeah, that sounds fair enough. Luckily for me, it seems I can put off a gb replacement for the time being so wont even bother for now. Would love just a little lower low, but I can deal with it. But... while I was mucking around underneath today, I discovered that my double cardin on the front shaft has about 20 degrees too much slop and may need attention sooner rather than later! So I'm interested in that $200 figure you quoted:
You don't buy the joint separately from the rest of the shaft do you? There's no reason to consider a rebuild is there? Is the $200 mark where I should be expecting to look?
