they are the retreads, named 31's to differentiate from the remould 32's, but they both measure 31...I couldn't see point of remoulds as they are not full remoulds anyway...retreads have softer sidewalls, tho, too. ...christover

got many different quotes, but most had no stock, so was irrelevant...I paid $155 each fitted and balanced.....yep, sick of the slix, been saving fer a while, chrustover

i wouldn't suggest running them on the road too long, mine have worn down heaps driving too and from our wheeling spots around town, so i try to swap em when i get somewhere instead of running them on the road.

I am hoping the lightness of me zook helps prevent excessive wear, other tyres I have used got incredible milage, or is it kilometerage,
but I am realistic

looks like the diff ratio change is a goer, mocks is in, so that leaves more money for rubber, and less worry of S1 failures....they are very light to steer at 34lbs on road, less tread on road, I suppose..now to chase up some LJ diffs of 4;56 or 4;9 whatever comes, and save fer the rear tyres may be wise

Yep, the front is a bolt in, and the rear, because it is the same as the front on an LJ you have to use a 1ltr rear centre in the LJ third member

you bought retreads for 155 fitted i can get 31s centipedes fitted for 160 brand knew tyre thats if ive read you right . the 31s will probably kill the 1lt diffs i blew both c/v shafts apart within 6 months of each other and chewed 3 teeth off the pinion gear on the rear diff then the backlash got so bad i had to replace any way which caused me to flog out a rear tail shaft uni as well so i suggest you look for some early 1.3 lt diffs out of a long wheel base will bolt straight in without the brake booster

u havnt seen chris drive

I ran 36' swampers for a longtime on suzuki diffs, rearly broke stuff.
Its got more to do with the way u drive.
Chris would have more offroad experiance than 90% of the people on this forum.

centipedes mt's are a different kind of tyre. There isn't many tyres around as aggresive as the mongrels for that kind of money.

Nice tyres!! I VERY jealous... When you talk about the full re-moulds, do you mean the mono-form tyre they talk about on the motorway website? And just wondering why you wanted softer sidewalls?? So they bag out better??

yes, the full remould is the monoform and yes, softer does bag out better, especially on a light zook....altho I would pay the extra 30 bucks if they were moulded all the way round..because of the carcasses they using now, its only possible to do one side and the tread..so I opted for the retread...retreads are a bad choice for long, hot highway trips, but I don't do that anymore....christover...

They are fine for rav4's and Kia's and the like, but Chris is a bit more demanding of his tyres

New tyres are always a better choice than 2nd hand, remoulded or retreaded tyres...no argument from me...I did consider centipede mt's but the 31's measured just under 30, odd isn't it...I chose aggressive tread, because of the terrain I enjoy, everybody makes the right choice for their own lifestyle...Nice new simexes, swampers and many such amazing rubber are all superior to a mongrel retread, of course....but with a cheaper tyre comes less stress if I kill one on a sharp rock, or if I want to park the car in a dodgy neighbourhood....I appreciate all opinions, even when they don't agree with mine, I don't know everything, and discussion is how we all benefit from this and other forums...I have been using 1.0 litre diffs with 26/28/30 and 31's for a long time, and yes I have broke 2 cv's in 7 years, both under extreme circumstances, I expect a little carnage from a 1.3 driving 1.o running gear, but its surprisingly reliable.....thanks also for those who support me in my decisions, mates and strangers....I have given this decision a few months of thought, and its the best one for me, allowing for just affordable purchase and replacement, and cost of vehicle mods to suit, and I am no way offended by negative feed back, because I value all ideas and opinions. christover.
