I've got 15X8 ROH's that cost about $70 each with 11.5 inches, the tyres scrape on the springs a fraction b4 full lock.

I dunno how to work out the back spacing though.

I also have a set up Lada Niva rims but who would wanna put them on their zook (certainly not me) and yes, I used to drive a lada Niva <Shuddder>

I had the same trouble with my 15/8 so I cut the centre out turned the rim around and put the centre back in giving me an extra 3' of track a side no srubing problems then.

HeHe,
I run 15X8 f100 they are ok for 32x11.50s, rub a little on the springs one side not much though.

sam how did you do them ? with a lath ? or on a flat surface ?
We need a heap of offset for some little 33x14.50 boggers for my young bloke and we have some 8s should be able to sqash em on there but need the backspace was thinking simaler to yours .

Larry I ground off the welds with a die grinder punched the ceantres out turned the rim the other way so the inside is now the outside set them up on a balancer to make sure they were true then welded the centres in.

But you can't run beadlock with this setup, unless you put the ring on the inside, right??

Assuming the wheels you are talking about are track II or an equivilent (i.e. sunraysia wheel) you can put the weld in bead locks on either side of the wheel.

I've got a set that we punched the centres out of and flipped over then welded back in - for greater offset - then welded the bead lock ring in to the outside (which was previously the inside).

You should always be putting the beadlock on the outer side of the rim because that's where most stress will be applied to the tire/bead.

so doesn't that make it imposible to get the tire on?

hang on a second, i suspect we are confusing ourselves here liam.

the rim still works as per normal when reversed, we then welded the inner ring into place, pop the inner bead of the tire over the outer side of the wheel then clamp the outer bead of the tire to the welded in ring... nothing confusing about that i hope.

Liam, you can still get the tyre on!!

Just wait till they try and get the sucker back off   :o

If I am thinking about this correctly:

dude flips rim, for greater width
dude now has big safety bead on the outside
dude buys beadlocks
dude welds them to the correct, or outwards facing side
duuuuuude has no idea, that he has welded the beadlock to the safety bead?????? :o

just how hard was it to get the tyre on consdering you had to slide it across the entire safety bead?

If you flip the rim you don't really need beadlocks as the now out side of the rim is a 3' wide and you would have to drag the bead that 3' to get it to pop. I run anywhere from 3-8psi without beadlocks and have never popped a bead.
