My zook is becoming an airplane or something else with all those things and bits that I have been adding to it.

Now I fitted a Voltmeter and due to a lack of space in the dashboard the thingy is sitting between the gearstick and the transfer lever.

I was thinking the same thing Guy, but if he wants one, thats OK with me,
I didn't question you when you put an esspesso machine in your hilux, or when Graham put shelves and a lawn mower and some boxes and a lounge chair and an inch of dust on his zook either!

It is not that I needed, but if I had had one of these when the alternator got damaged (and the light in the dashboard is not working) I could have known that something was not right before going on a trip. So after the tow truck and the emergency auto electrician took my money I decided to do something about.

Call it "peace of mind."

Man I mustr have been lucky with suzuki alts .. I only changed mine once ot twice, and that because they were just plain worn out .. (no brushes left)

Can you show us a pic of the dash with all the other bits and pieces you are talking about. I'd be a bit worried about getting mud and water into that one (Yes Pete & Guy I know it's hard to get wet and muddy when its in a shed) but back when i was a lad and went 4wheeling I ruined two stereos that were mounted not much higher than that under my parcel shelf from submerging them

Quick answer: Yes I did but the circuit iisn't working. I always go for the easiest/cheapest first after that I start thinking in other options.

been a fair few times I've had batteries and alternators die and wished I'd had a volt/amp gauge

the alt on my old calais dropeed a phase so it was still charging and the light would stay off, but wasn't charging enough to power the lights and everything else, I ended up broken down 50 kays from home at 3am, no-one would jump start me because they were worried about their computers blowing up... even a guy with a 1980 corolla :roll:

That's exactly what happened to me. Battery flat in the middle of nowhere, and the crow truck, sorry, the tow truck appeared and tried to jump start but as soon as we disconnected the cables the car just die. So the gentle driver took off me a couple of hundreds and towed me to an electrician (I had to wait 'till next morning), and this guy took another couple of hundreds of me so I came back home. No wonder why I didn't go to my planned destination.

If you have one of these things you can realise somthing is going wrong and stop somewhere ans save at least the couple of hundred of the tow truck and maybe another hundred in a new battery.

BTW Love_mud with a flat battery you can't even have an expresso cofee while you wait for the tow truck.

It runs .. it's just registrationally challanged ..

BTW we have a range of espresso machines on here ..
I like Krups 2 bar pressure
