Linkage on front of MQ???
Linkage on front of MQ???
Guys, as the other night was my first real look under and around a MQ, and even a nissan for that fact, i didnt actually have that good a look that i could work out what the round cylinder type linkage that hangs down up the front in the middle of the two front spring hangers...
Im guessing some kinda steering linkage, but coming from a toyota side of things, ive never seen anything like it...
any one fill me in?
Lee.

called a relay box. Keep the grease up to it otherwise the bush flogs out, as it will eventually. Turn the wheel & have someone check the amount of movement. If to much put a new bush in it. Also if you can find one of a leaf sprung GQ they are the same and the shaft will most likely be in better nick

My MK is SOA and the extra linkage is removed. Works just fine.
Some pics:
As you can see, the drag-link goes strait from the steering box to the steering arm.

Ps. And yes, i will add a steering damper! I have it in my garage!

mate, looks like masking tape to me, which is even worse than duct tape
Actually, it IS masking tape! However, i didn't have a tool for removing the bastard at the moment. Now it's gone however. I took the pic rigth after i finished the front steering job. I never drowe it on the road in that condition!
