Post by Drift Technician »

Guys need a new starter motor for the Paj and have come across a slightish problem. I need to know if it is a gear reduction drive starter motor or not?

FWIW, I don't have a 2.6 in a Paj, but I've got one in a Sigma. Its starter motor doesn't have any reduction gears; direct drive of the gear which engages the flywheel.

Does that help?

Cheers,

well I had one in the Paj which was stuffed, pulled it out was a different size to the spare one i had (longer but snout and gears were the same length/number) so installed that started for a week or so (alebiet cranky) then bought one from Mitsy wreckers today out of a 2.6l Paj and fitted it. Problem with the old one was that the snout was snapped off jamming the flywheel........ so not sure if they run the same starter motor
