75 series sub tank
On my mates 75 ute the orange light for low fuel comes on for the main tank but when switched to sub tank there is no warning light for low fuel. I don't know a lot about toyotas but I believe that they all do this don't they??? If this is so, is there anyway of setting it up so we can get the warning for the sub tank also. Is it a matter of getting a sender off a main tank or something. I believe both tanks are 90L. cheers.
The tank pickup will have a fluid sensing sender mounted just off the bottom of the tank if it is factory. Either the led in your factory fuel guage is dead, or the sender is dead or the wiring is not complete. I would start with the wiring and then power up the led in the guage to test it. If all that is ok, pull out the sender and test that. If you have a non factory sub tank set up you can fit a sender to the pick up and to a warning light of your own. Check out a wiring diagram in the workshop manual.
