Part time 80 series

Post by crankycruiser »

A mate has stuffed his T case is his full time 4wd 80 and has managed to pick up a case out of a DX cruiser the factory part time boxes..

Had a look at it and it looks like the box will bolt straight up but the tailshaft looks to be a different length.. is this right??

Hi
The part timer bolts straight up to what you have, but its ass is 60mm shorter than the ctr diff model, so the rear shaft is that much longer.
Check out the 4 sale section page 12 and there is a part timer there 4 sale with box for 550 suit diesel...bigfella may have a shaft to go with it.

Make sure you get the DX transfer shifter mechanism as the fulltime is completly different.

I use the constant shifter on the part timer...it still works but u dont have the safety gate into low, which usually becomes hard to move when dirt and water get in.
