"You mean a dump valve?? If it's that it's a waste of time on a 300 or 200, thats only usefull for petrol powered turbo engines, since they have the airflow meter before the turbo thus the dumpvalve is used to release the pressure against the turbine so it will keep spinning at the same rate between gearchanges, reducing turbo lag. The dump valve is actuated by the vacum produced betweem the turbo and the AF meter, when the airflow meter is closed it produces a vacum which actuates the piston on the dump valve hence relesing the pressure with a whosshing sound.
Now turbo diesels do not produce vacum before the turbo so the dump valve is not effective and there is no vacum signal to actuate it, hence useless. If you like the noise they make, you can fit one just for that but a lot of pipe work is involved, with solenoids, wires, switches to work. Hope that helps. "
