Service Manual for a 40 Series
G'day guys, I know there is not much to these classic beasts but I like to get my hands on some litature that can tell me how they are put together. Any ideas? I've got a 73 FJ 40. Wouldn't mine learning a bit about the Electronics, gearing, diff, brakes and transfer cases.
73 FJ40 307 Chevy Gas Guzziling Convertible, Scares the @#$% out of me every time. Big 31'' Wheels, Mad Mags, In British Racing Green.
bj is later than the fj with yours being a v8 a fj from 75 will be fine the difference then was the f and 2f engine which where slightly different

My fav is the factory service manual but they are spendy and you have to buy both the body & chassis manual and the engine manual separately, but almost every step is pictured. The next one in my books (LOL) is Gregory's. Agree that they cover a wide range of vehicles and often they mainly cover one model while another model is given minimal illustrations and drawings (e.g. the 1990-97 manual with regards to the 75 series.) Max Ellery's is not too bad but I only have used their 90-02 manual. My least favorite is Haynes, the pictures and illustrations seem sparse to me compared to the other manuals.
