Mounting A frame to diff

Post by tomsoffroad »

I had a little oops on the weekend.
The welds on my diff locating the A frame to it broke

My question is this....... Has anyone got a pic of their mount which has stood the test of time which I could shamelessly copy :D
Cheers Thomas

Cheezy's beast has been in 4x4 Australia, and 4wd Monthly recently, with pics of the diff mounting. Not being a smart arse, but dont stuff around with stuff like this, if in doubt, pay some-one who knows, to do it. rRther be $500 poorer than dead......

Sikaflex :finger:

Can you take pics of the breakage? What is your welding like? Maybe that's the problem, not the design of the mount?

it really dosen't matter what the cause is if you can't do it 110% don't. the last thing we all need is a death related to hardcore mods made public. man dies as home made a frame lets go on national highway!

even the some of the pros stuff can be average so think hard what you are doing.

anyway to answer ya q. make the brackets attach to the neutral axis like along the diff left to right parallel to the centre line. attach the piviot through these then cover the top hence joing the front to back. then truss the sides. don't use plate thicker than 1 2/2 - 2 times the parent metal thickness or it will stress crack and is not legal. i have a pic pm me your email

cheers bru
