Welcome to the board.
That looks a lot like my old feroza mate. I'd be curious to see if it is.
I'll PM you the eng & VIN nos to see if it is...
If so you should also have extended shackles, K & N Air Filter (unless it has been taken out) and a Daikin heavy duty clutch (which was 3 months old when I traded the car.
Check the gear lever rubber boot... it should have a hole in one of the bottom folds the was made by a cigarette butt... and the rims are in grey colour except for one which was done in silver...
Anyway, welcome all the same... good to see my old rig has gone to a good home.
Cheers
Paul

Something else I remember... it had a small dent the size of a 10cent piece on the rear drivers side panel just to the left of the tailgate above the old style light panel....
And that yellow sticker on the back window is definately mine....
Too funny.

oh, i've tipped it on it's side too. so there are a few more dents to the collection that was on it.
i wont post pics to save embarrasment...

hahaha.. you could tell it had seen some fun times.
new diff was fitted b4 i looked at it, the tyres look like they seen better days but not shagged. bit of travelling in them yet.
only problem i have now is the noise it started to make this arvo, sounds very much like something like a bolt has come lose in the clutch/flywheel.
glad i know how to rebuild engines and shite, will save me a lot in ridiculous mechanical fees. and working in a autoparts store make 'some' parts cheaper on the pocket.
i'll be pulling a few bits off tonight to see if i can find the culprit of the noise.

yeah the a/c compressor makes some noise, i'll check the power steering pump pulley
this noise, (rattle, rattle, clunk) did appear to come from underneathe around my feet though. kinda like someone had tied some shit to the tail shaft only there is nothing tied to the tail shaft.

Dont worry about the A/C compressor making noise.... mine has had the rattle since I bought it three years ago and still does, no change and the guys I sopke to at the air conditioning place next to my work said lots of daihatsus do it and not to worry.
You wanna get your self a copy of the watagans VCD Partz and I did (well he did the hard work and I drank beer and directed) as your car is a bit of a star in it....

On boooooost!!
That noise was around when I owned it... It's an intermitent noise that sounds like its coming from the gearbox.
I had my mechanic look the car over and he couldn't find anything wrong with it but on the other hand it stopped making the noise the moment I got to his shop.
You can actually feel the clanging up the gear shift from memory. I was going to pull the gearbox apart but like I said... it stopped and didnt come back. Obviously what was in there got stuck somewhere and has just come loose.

it's only ever done it to me in the last 2 days intermitantly, and i've done some k's in it since i've had it. brissie trips as well as heaps to the beach. thats what i would call very intermitant if it did it when you had it too Paul.
i pulled the inspection plate off last night but couldnt see anything. the noise sounds like a spring has come loose off the clutch plate to me, so i might have to drop the box on the w/end and have a look-see.
Croz, and how do i aquire this? i'm worried now what i might see...

I have had one of the dowls that locates the pressure plate to the flywheel come out b4. On sharp corners or hard braking it would roll up the inside of the bellhousing and get flicked around by the flywheel.
Was a rattleing kind of sound.
Hey tufferoza, i have most of the workshop manuals printed out if ya wanna borrow them.

Clint, cheers man. seeing you are only around the corner i'll have to make sure i drop in and introduce myself soon.
what you said is exactly the type of noise i would be hearing, something loose flicking around. hrmm, might go back out the shed and see if i can fish around in there with a flat screw driver.

i have to start prepareing my Mr2 for a trip back to Perth next Feb, and the last thing i needed was the feroza off the road.
Ahh, so thats what was causing all that noise when Paul still had that car. He once described it as a "cat in the box" kind of noise.
Dont want to sound negative but I think you should double check all the front axle drive on that thing. CVs and diff.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.
Tufferoza how did you manage to get the dowel out? Is there an access hole or something in the bell housing?
lower front side of the bell housing is an inspection plate. every gearbox that i know of has one.

you know something about how much it was flogged? eep.
the front diff seems to work fine (no noises etc), the drive shafts do have a little movement (in/out) into the hubs, cv's feel good.
should there be any in/out movement of the drive shafts into the hubs?
i do have a problem lately in the soft boggy sand if i start to get a little bogged the front end kinda chuggs/bounces and will bog itself in. rather annoying when trying to snatch someone out.

thats got nothing to do with the car.... they're 31's right. what pressures you run on the beach.... being a small light car, for soft stuff may want to go down to 12 psi. My muddies had to go down to that to bag out enough.tufferoza wrote:i do have a problem lately in the soft boggy sand if i start to get a little bogged the front end kinda chuggs/bounces and will bog itself in. rather annoying when trying to snatch someone out.
Also, when snatching in sand, you may want to 'build a track' by slow forward and reverse movements to get a smooth track going, and then start off slower with more run-up to stop wheel spin.
Heath & Melissa - 93 GQ LWB.
lol... i remember lowering my muddies down to around 8 psi... never had a problem... even got some serious air and squeezed between some trees (major body damage, b-pillar damage) but it got grip. just becareful not to pop out your beads.
