I've been looking closer to my engine after swap from applause and i noticed that wire of my oxygen sensor is not connected anywhere
i don't exactly know where to connect this single wire, to the metal clamp or connect to the other plug? I saw the oxygen sensor topic in the FAQ but not exactly realize where to plug it.
Also, can this non-connected sensor (probably also damaged) be the cause of my extremely high fuel consumption? I checked its voltage today and it seems that it is damaged, i got about 50mV only so it is pretty lean mixture as i suppose.
While driving i get very high consumption in the city but everything looks fine while driving stable speed on the highway!
The should be a round plastic plug (green??) connector hanging around under your distributor somewhere. It clips into a metal holder on the underside of the head down that way- so check if it's not held up there somewhere too.
Try reconnecting it first and then see what voltage you get. Also check the earth circuit through the exhaust manifold isn't corroded and open circuit somewhere (as explained in the FAQ).
At least it's a relatively cheap part to replace (~$60 -$80) and you'll get the savings back in fuel. My economy has improved by around 0.5l / 100km and the engine responds a lot more nicely.
Thanks for advices Murdock - i did it and my car works much better now. I used a standard GM oxygen that fits into many Opels, Daewoo's and other GM cars.
I had a problems with localizing my oxygen sensor cable in the main CPU as my wehicle is equipped with 3 connectors! I saw in the FAQ that your Ferozas have 2 cable connecterors to the CPU - mine has three
Anyway, i discovered how this stuff works and which cable is Oxygen sensor so i could measure and check if all works fine.
