Post by rocky raider »

hi guys and girls!
this is my first post. i have a 1990 daihatsu rocky it wont start. it quit runing on the highway. it does not trigger the injectors or the fuel pump during cranking
it starts up right away on starting fluid. it wont run if i power the fuel pump,it pressurizes the line all the way to the manifold but i guess the computer is bad because it wont open the injectors and fire up?????
also see my post in the into thread
any help??

G'day Jeff.

I'd start probing around the EFI computer with a voltmeter and check you're getting all the volatges to it first. eg. permanent 12V, ign on 12V, earths etc. Also check all your looms in the engine bay and all the earths etc are hooked up properly. Don't forget to check fuses and relays for problems too. ;)

If you haven't got the service manual, then click on my homepage link and download it. That will help you trace the looms and wiring; plus give fault finding procedures.

jeff... of all the times i've jumped my roza, i've never had problems with the efi.... dont think jumping her would cause problems for the efi.. but then again, if you dont jump right, then i spose it could cause problems. highly doubt it though. i honestly think you have a loose ground somewhere, thats your best bet... or a poor connection. eleminate those, and then we'll move from there. good luck.
